The Phantom Of The Opera 2019 - Marina Bay Sands Theatre

[Media Review]

All the while, I was into Chinese music, until AJ came along, when his music journey exposed me to English musical.

The Phantom of the Opera is a musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Charles Hart. The world’s most popular musical requires no introduction, and glad to say, it is here in Singapore till 8 June 2019 in the world-class theatre – Marina Bay Sands Theatre, for its many faithful fans and for those who have not watched this legendary show before.

With 130 cast, crew and orchestra members, jaw-dropping scenery, breath-taking special effects and more than 230 costumes, this is definitely a musical not to be missed, Singapore! Here's what impressed me:

(1) Marina Bay Sands Theatre
It has to be the BEST in Asia, the least. The MBS Theatre has the best acoustic and lightings (LED lights) that could create marvelous sound and lighting effects. The musical shows and drama, these two play a big part in bringing out the atmosphere and satisfying our sensory needs.

(2) Meghan Picerno (plays Christine Daae)
This beauty graduated from the Manhattan School of Music Conservatory and has acted in numerous theatre and opera shows. Hear her sing! This outstanding Soprano singer will woo you with her strong vocal. Pay special attention to her voice during the scene when she and the Phantom were in the boat, you’ll get what I meant.

(3) The Live Orchestra
These unsung heroes played Andrew Lloyd Webber’s orchestra pieces right below the stage, under the baton of David Andrews Rogers. You don’t even get to see them, you could only listen to the wonderful music they produced. Be marveled by the seamless coordination between them and the stage actors. You can't say you are not impressed.

The Phantom of the Opera runs on our sunny island until 8 June 2019 before heading to Kuala Lumpur. If you do not want the hassle of flying north to catch the show, book your tickets now.
